What is an IP Camera?

An IP Camera, short for Internet Protocol Camera, is a digital surveillance video camera that transmits images and sounds over the internet, allowing access through a computer, tablet, or smartphone. This differs from traditional analog closed-circuit television (CCTV).

IP Cameras operate within your LAN network, utilizing wired or wireless connections. They can be accessed from any device by entering an IP address. In contrast, CCTV cameras require a system connected to a DVR via cables.

Advantages of  IP Cameras

High image resolution and quality.

IP cameras send their digital signal to a Network Video Recorder (NVR) via Internet Protocol (IP). They do not need to be directly connected to the recorder.

IP cameras are easier to install, compared to conventional surveillance systems.

IP cameras use only one cable (Power over Ethernet -PoE) to supply power and transfer video.

The video footage from IP cameras is stored on your own video recorder, ensuring safety and security.

IP cameras provide a wider angle view compared to analog cameras.

They allow for recording and playback of videos when required.

IP cameras send information in real-time; most of them have a motion detection function, allowing for an immediate reaction.

The technology is easy to update, flexible, and cost-efficient.

IP cameras are becoming popular for both commercial and residential use.

Suitable solutions for your needs.
