What is an IP Camera?

IP Camera stands for Internet Protocol Camera. It is a digital surveillance video camera which  images and sounds can be received through the internet via a computer, tablet or smart phone, at difference than traditional analog closed-circuit television (CCTV).

It means that IP Cameras work with the internet, within your LAN network, in a wired or wireless way. They can be checked in any device by typing an IP address, while CCTV cameras need a system connected to a DVR by cables.
